Research ideas for your wedding by looking at Vogue, fashion magazines, blogs, ect.
Include your wedding album in the budget. Make sure to allocate budget money to go towards your album so that you can have that one valued keepsake of your special day.

Don’t stress about locations, a good photographer will understand that location is secondary to you.
Appoint one person on your wedding day to round up family for pictures.
Keep your wedding party happy, forget about matchy - matchy bridesmaids dresses. Give them dresses that are both complementary and comfortable.
Don’t buy new clothes for engagements, wear something that fits your style and personality.
Minimize receiving lines at receptions, make your way around each table at your own time instead of standing in line shaking hands with people you don’t know. Have fun at your reception.
Choose a photographer who doesn’t have time or location limits. When they are with you all day they are able to capture the mood of the whole day.
Figure out your style and make sure your photographer can match it. They should have multiple recent samples that show a variety of styles.

Don’t be afraid to break traditions. A new trend is taking groomal photos instead of bridals. This does away with the tradition of not seeing the brides dress until the wedding day, but this will save time on the wedding day and you can have prints of the groomals to display at your reception.
How Adam & Sydney put these tips to use:
Sydney came to us with a very clear idea of what she wanted for her wedding photography. She had cut out pictures of the style she was going for which helped us understand what she wanted. They opted to do groomals to relieve the stress of doing to many bride and groom pictures on there wedding day. Sydney wanted her photos to be vintage yet modern. Along with a flower bouquet she brought along two antique purses to use in place of the flowers in some shots. Adam wore suspenders, a vest and a suit which allowed for more variety with their photos. The locations we chose for their groomals were simple yet colorful and really allowed the photos to be about them.

After their ceremony at the Salt Lake Temple we gathered everyone around the stairs for a quick group photo. For the immediate family Sydney wanted something a little bit different so we went to a tracks station for some fun and casual family pictures.
Adam and Sydney chose the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for their reception because it matched their vintage style. Rather than having a receiving line, they were able to talk to everyone by visiting each table. Instead of having just one big cake, they had a different mini cakes for the guest to cut along with them.
